I started off 2015 with a new job at the Ontario Media Development Corporation. I’m now working on screen-based funding programs and events for Ontario’s cultural industries – including film, television and (my favourite) interactive.
I’ll get to work everyday to help coordinate millions of dollars worth of provincial funding to some of the world’s most talented creators here in Ontario. From reviewing industry applications to monitoring the lengthy reporting process that comes with applying to OMDC programs, it’s also going to be a great opportunity to see first-hand the entire creative/business/marketing/sales planning spectrum that comes into play with making new games, films, shows and other creative projects.
Long story short: the knowledge I’ll gain from the position should make me even better equipped to do good work in today’s ever-changing multimedia landscape. Let’s see how it goes, shall we?
